Every year residents and staff of the “Community of mutual aid “Oselya” go to the Carpathians in order to relax and do something useful. They conduct environmental campaigns together with Verkhovyna Social Service Centre for Families, Children and Youth. This August they scavenged two mountains – Pysanyi Kamin and Pip Ivan (the second highest mountain of the Ukrainian Carpathians). Being famous and inviting tourist places, these two mountains are traditionally being littered by the same tourists. And someone has to worry about that.
Together with the work there was also a rest and a cultural program – visiting the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments, tours of high-mountain villages, visiting churches and recreation at Lake Marichaika.
