<a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/?page_id=36\">community<\/a>. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">105 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">people had consultations with social worker, and 85 persons with psychologist. 40 people got first medical aid and we helped 8 people with their documents. <\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2008 55 homeless and long-term unemployed people worked and got new skills in the <a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/?page_id=25\">workshop<\/a>. They got new skills on renovation furniture and decoration. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">The main task of community is to earn for living on their own. The income of the <a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/?page_id=74\">charity shop<\/a> and workshop is the main financial resource. We collect furniture, household items, cloth from citizens, repair it if needed and sell in the shop. We also clean the streets, provide truck service etc. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Once a week we <a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/?page_id=49\">distribute hot meals<\/a> in the downtown for almost 100 people. For the few months in 2008 that action was financed by Municipality. In 2008 we had 53 distribution and 5\u00a0300 portions.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Every<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">year<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">we<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">organize<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">Easter<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">and<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">Christmas and Easter celebrations and invite almost 300 people to be together with companions on these days.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/?page_id=53\">Kofoed\u2019s social support center<\/a><\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">was open in February <\/span><span lang=\"UK\">2008 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">supported by Kofoed\u2019s school<\/span><span lang=\"UK\">, Lviv\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">municipality, and Charitable foundation \u201cPivdenny\u201d. Homeless people can take shower here, do laundry, eat, get clean cloth, haircut, first medical aid, talk to social worker. Here they are involved to the street magazine selling and also are informed about possibility to join the community. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">In May 2008 we presented the first issue of <a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/?page_id=72\">street magazine \u201cProsto neba\u201d.<\/a> The aim of this project is to involve homeless people to active social life, to create conditions for their employment and to attract attention to the problem of homelessness in the society. Many famous journalists and writers are involved in this project. The price of the magazine is 4 UAH and vendor get half of that. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2008 we published 8\u00a0000 copies of 3 issues. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">In<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> 2008 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Oselya<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">traditionally<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">was<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">one<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">of<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">the<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">most<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">active<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">organizations<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">working<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">with<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">homeless<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> We are members of Coordination Council on homelessness issue in Lviv city and Lviv region. Two Oselya projects were financed by Municipality. Private donators and Charitable Foundation \u201cPivdenny\u201d supported solidarity actions.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Oselya was a field for practice for different university students. We participated in all social events organized by Municipality \u2013 different conferences, forums, seminars etc.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">And many guests visited community in Vynnyky. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">For the last couple years we cooperate with <a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/?page_id=1269\">Emmaus International movement.<\/a> In 2008 we had great support from Emmaus Lublin, Novy Sonch, Zheshuv, Emmaus Association and Emmaus Europe. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">They financed workers\u2019 salaries, running the Community, building works and Social support centre in the end of the year.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Kofoed\u2019s school from Denmark helped to open Social support center in Lviv and financed it during the year. \u201cHelping hands\u201d from Netherlands presented big tent for solidarity actions. Oselya was co-founder of international council on homelessness <\/span><span lang=\"UK\">\u201c<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Human<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">for<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">human<\/span><span lang=\"UK\">\u201d <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">together with St. Albert Association (Poland) \u201cNew social solutions\u201d (Russia).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">INCOMES IN 2008:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/emaus-oselya.org\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/2008i.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1635  alignnone\"
