Photo project for “Prosto neba”

“No signs of artistic life” is author’s project of artist Rostyslav Shpuk for the street magazine “Prosto neba”.

The project aims to attract public attention to the problem of homelessness through the portraying well-known writers as homeless people. The name of the project in Ukrainian language is an abbreviation of the word “bomzh”. It is an offensive word that was used by soviet police to identify homeless people. So, by this project, we are also trying to eliminate the discriminatory word “bomzh” and give it other associations.  Taras Prokhasko, Yuriy Izdryk, Sofia Andrukhovych, Volodymyr Yeshkilyev, Yuryi Andrukhovych, Oleh Hnativ, Tanya Malyarchuk, Hrihoriy Semenchuk, Andriy Bondar, Irena Karpa, and Oleksandr Boychenko took part in the project. Their photos are printed on magazine covers. The photo project was also presented by photo exhibitions in Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and in Cieszyn and Lublin (Poland).
